A delegation led by Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat met Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, AEC and Secretary, DAE, on 02.07.2026 at Anushakti Bhavan, Mumbai. The meeting was also attended by Shri Ashish Vala, Joint Secretary, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat and Bishwajith Roy, Director General, GERMI in the presence of Director, BARC, CMD, NPCIL, Head, NCPW and senior officials from DAE and GSECL.
The meeting focused on advancing nuclear power development in Gujarat under the Nuclear Energy Mission. Discussion covered proposals for large nuclear power projects, Small Modular Reactors, site identification, technical studies and strengthening Centre-State collaboration to support India’s clean energy transition and long-term energy security.
