Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Director, BARC, took over the charge of Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, and Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy, from Shri Kamlesh Nilkanth Vyas in a simple ceremony held at the DAE Secretariat in Mumbai on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohanty expressed that he would do his best to contribute to the growth of R&D and accomplish societal objectives in order to serve the nation. He also stated that the benefits of atomic energy go beyond carbon-free electricity, with contributions to national security, health care management, food security, and water security being just as significant as energy security.
