Essential Services

As per the orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, DAE continues to operate its essential services including nuclear power generation, healthcare services, research reactors etc. All nuclear power reactors, operated by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited are running as per the planned schedule. Healthcare services are rendered by the Tata Memorial Centre and the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology is involved in production of radiopharmaceuticals.



Keeping in mind the need for having a dedicated national fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected, a public charitable trust under the name of Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance  and  Relief  in  Emergency  Situations (PM CARES) Fund has been set up. The Department of Atomic Energy stands firm in its committment towards this benevolent national initiative.
